Burdekin WIS was established in 1998. The group is located just south of Townsville.
The purpose of the group are:
- Address issues relevant to cane industry and the local rural community;
- To gain and share knowledge, and support others;
- Help develop individual self confidence.
The group meets on the 2nd Friday of the month at Burdekin Canegrowers office.
